LADIES AND GANGSTERS
We are sick and tired of hanging out in Oslo, and
have decided to hit the road with our new album.
Playing live has always been what it’s all about for
us, and we miss it a lot. Our friends Alex Kloster-Jensen
and Cato Salsa will join us on guitars and organ, Mikael
Megaton and Anders Möller will make select
appearances along the way. Our European tour will
start on May 1st at Dauwpop in Holland and go on
for about a month or so ending at the Norwegian
Wood festival in Oslo on Saturday June 14. The
tour will almost certainly take us to Germany,
Holland, Greece, Belgium, Switzerland and Denmark,
but it’s
still being booked so more countries and dates for Norwegian
and European festivals will be added. As things
have changed dramatically since Robert’s death
last year we find it better to take things step by step
and not to make too many promises about the future. However,
we’re eager to get back on the road with
our friends, and to meet you good people. Hope
to see you soon.

VÅr kjÆre venn,
Robert Burås, gikk bort 12.07.07.
Han ble 31 År gammel.
Robert viet sitt
sorgen.

OUR beloved friend, Robert BurÅs,
passed away on 12 July 2007. He was 31 years old.
Robert
dedicated his life to music. He was guitarist and composer
in Madrugada for 12 years. He spent this last year
on his band My Midnight Creeps and also on composing and recording a
new Madrugada album. Robert passed away at a time
when he was at his most creative. Through his
recorded work and from stages both domestic and international,
he made his eternal mark on Norwegian rock history.
Everyone who knew him and worked
with him will remember him as a generous and warm
person who lived and breathed for music. There are
many of us who cared a lot for Robert who are having
an extremely hard time today.Robert will always be
a part of us and he will always be deeply missed.
Our thoughts and sympathy are with his family. We
request that Robert's family may be left to grieve
in peace.

OK OK OK OK......what can we
say?
But many of you already
know what has been or is happening or going to happen
(would someone tell us too about the future???).....we
couldn’t be more thrilled with the endless and
boundless creativity coming from the Mad Ones. Sivert’s
new Number 1 solo album “Exiles” is almost
double platinum. Robert’s alter ego Bobby
Cagehill’s and Alex Kloster-Jensens’s My
Midnight Creeps will be attacking your aural senses
very soon. Tour dates from both are being lined up
and the future outside of Norway will always be up
to you....the fans. In the meantime, the Live
From Tralfamadore DVD has been Number 1 for two weeks
in Greece. Expect special treatment for the fans
in the coming months. Frode is producing some
others while getting the Madrugada HQ studio even more
together. |

SUMMER
ENDS....
Summer ends......like
all good things one phase ends and another begins. Madrugada
has finished their last tour date on the books and will
now hunker down into sorting out their studio a bit
to start work on the next album. Frode is taking care
of this. Sivert has some solo material to finish up
before release and Robert with My Midnight Creeps are
getting ready to start mixing the album in a few weeks.
Everything from now until the end of the year will be
in preparation for all of these good things and plan
to some solo tour dates hopefully when the time comes.
It has been an incredible year and half which means
we need to take a breather and see where we came from
and where we are going. Sort of like a groundhog does
in Spring. Before that, some heavy relaxation is in
order to clear the brain. Keep the faith and be good.
We’ll keep you up to speed if anything wild happens! |

Dear all,
Apologies
for being so crap at updating this section. We beg your
forgiveness. Time has been whirring and whizzing by
with so much activity that it would make something that
looks quite busy look like something that is standing
still. Do not blame the band as this is a managerial
oversight which will be duly punished by several alcohol
unit deductions.
Our big whoop international date is Tuesday 15.08.06
Paredes de Coura Festival, Portugal on a superb bill
with Morrissey, Fischerspooner, Broken Social Scene,
(Madrugada), Gomez and White Rose Movement. Come say
hello and howdy.
Back to all the conundrums of everyday life....Robert
is recording a new My Midnight Creeps album to follow
the notoriusly acclaimed first album. Rave reviews from
their recent Roskilde show!! Sivert is recording a solo
album co-produced with Head, Fredrik Viklund and himself.
Frode has been busy producing a local Oslo artist to
be revealed. Busy with many Norway festival dates which
are now finished up with a spot thing here and there
before a well deserved break before more work and writing
for hopefully a new Madrugada album late 2007. Please
be patient as there will enough music to go around from
the solo releases.
So beneath the quiet dormant exterior of what you see,
there is a bubbling churning caldron of monumental activity.
Again accept our apologies and hang in there for what
appears to bevy of activity. |

Who would have thought?
Madrugada
has won been the Spellemannsprisen (Norwegian Grammy)
for Artist Of The Year as well as the award for Best
Rock “The Deep End” and Best Song “Lift
Me” which has capped a truly extraordinary year.
This comes right on the heals of the Alarm Awards (Alternative
Indie) for Best Rock Album and Best Song “Kids
Are On High Street”.
“Live At Tralfamadore” continues to ride
at Number 1 on the album charts and double platinum
What can we say? All good things to those who wait.....
We are looking forward to the upcoming Norwegian tour
(a couple surprises in store!) and planning for the
future. We are not going to rest on our laurels.
Thank you so much and most importantly to you...our
fans. We aim to make you proud.. |
